SIR ROBERT DEPARTS ON TRAFALGAR DAY ANNIVERSARY
GIVING THANKS: Chief Minister Peter Caruana this week presenting Governor Sir Robert Fulton with replica Keys. Mr Caruana thanked Sir Robert for the role he had played having seen in the new Constitution. He compared the role to that of a “turkey voting for Christmas”.
Governor, Sir Robert Fulton, will depart Gibraltar on board HMS Sutherland at 10.00am on Wednesday 21 October 2009.
A departure ceremony will be held at The Tower immediately beforehand, during which Sir Robert will bid farewell to the Chief Minister Peter Caruana, the Commander British Forces Adrian Bell and a small number of other VIP invitees. The Royal Gibraltar Regiment will provide a Guard of Honour.
Following the departure, HMS Sutherland and the Royal Gibraltar Regiment will exchange a 17 gun salute. Gibraltar Squadron and the Gibraltar Service Police will provide an escort for HMS Sutherland.
