MORSE RADIO RECOGNITION

In a CD about World Amateur Radio recently issued in Sweden, local amateur radio operator John J. Bautista (ZB2EO), is listed amongst the 370 most astounding ham operators in the world.

Currently there are more than 2,800,000 licensed ham operators worldwide; the majority in Japan (1,296,000), the U.S.A. (722,330), Thailand (141,240) and South Korea (141,000). Spain and the U.K rank in 8th and 9th place with 58,700 and 58,400 respectively.

Mr Bautista is 81 years of age and has been active on the amateur radio bands for the past 32 years, operating, almost exclusively, by radiotelegraphy (morse).
