Police arrested a local man and a woman on suspicion of cruelty and neglect to children.

Officers investigated after receiving reports that the couple’s children were not being properly looked after.

Two girls aged three and four were taken into care by the Social Services Agency.

The couple have not been charged and were granted police bail.

The case remains open and is under investigation.
