POLICE INVESTIGATE UK WOMAN’S ‘SUSPICIOUS DEATH’
Police are investigating the “suspicious” death of a woman who was found in a house on Cumberland Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Although the Royal Gibraltar Police released few details of the case, the Chronicle understands that the woman had sustained a wound. According to some unconfirmed reports, this was caused by a knife.
A police spokesman said the body of a UK woman resident in Gibraltar had been found. She was in her 50s but her identity was not released because next of kin had yet to be informed.
“We are dealing with this as a suspicious death and all options remain open,” he said.
Police forensics officers attended the scene and several people were helping detectives with their enquiries as this edition went to press.
No one had been arrested as part of the investigation.
Yesterday a police officer remained posted outside the house in Cumberland Road.
