It has been a cliff hanger from the start, a huge amount of personal effort and dedication.

And now Gibraltar will be glued to the Olympic rhythmic gymnastics as its very own Georgina Cassar participates as a member of the British Olympic team.

 

Whilst it would be great to have our own team – clearly we have the ability to produce an Olympian from Westside Comprehensive School.

Daughter of Franco Cassar Barclays bank chief and himself adopted by Gibraltar, Georgina has seen her hopes soar and plummet. There was the split second disqualification which her team successfully challenged with Gibraltar support.

It is a remarkable achievement already – our best wishes for the rest of this fantastic journey.
