Confirmed: Bossano in China as VIP
As revealed earlier this week by the Chronicle the Minister for Employment and Inward Investment Joe Bossano is in China to participate in the Second Global Economic Leaders’ Summit as an invited VIP .
The summit takes place in Changchun City, the capital of Jilin Province, at the invitation of the Jilin Provincial Government. Jilin Province is located in the hinterland of Northeast Asia, bordering Russia on the East and North Korea to the Southeast.
The Global Economic Leaders’ Summit (GELS), is an international co-operation summit which brings together industry and business leaders from the Fortune 500 companies, political leaders from participating countries and renowned economists, experts and scholars.
It aims to integrate international economic resources and strengthen international cooperation.
No 6 said that it is expected that there will be some 2000 participants of whom over 500 have been awarded VIP status by the host country and will have their expenses met. Gibraltar is included in the VIP list.
Mr Bossano is scheduled to address the conference today Wednesday. The theme of the conference is to spur the thread of development and innovation of the global real economy.
Mr Bossano returns to Gibraltar on September 9.
