Don’t be goaded by Spanish media, VOGG tells public

The Voice of Gibraltar Group, the VOGG has welcomed the fact that the management of next Monday’s National Day returns to them. And they have also urged those attended not to be goaded into negative reactions to some Spanish media. The VOGG says it started the idea and ran it in a non-partisan manner.

“We welcome this and remind people that National Day should be a time where we unite as a people and set aside any local political differences,” said a spokesman.

“This year there are a number of UK Members of Parliament and other observers on stage, who will take away an impression of how we behave as

a people in public.” In previous years we have had the Spanish media trying to film a negative reaction from individuals. Their national sport is bullfighting, which consists of provoking an animal to attack and making a spectacle of it. The appropriate response is to call the police,” said the VOGG adding that National Day is “a statement that we are a people and Gibraltar is our home and our future. Break out the flags and lets dress in our national colours and enjoy it as only Gibraltarians know how.”
