Picardo terminates project consultancy with Pardo
The Gibraltar Government has terminated the engagement in various infrastructural projects of Land Projects Ltd and of Gibraltar Land Reclamation Company Ltd (GLRC) as Project Managers.
The terminations have been accepted in writing by both companies following a meeting in July between Nigel Pardo and the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia and Government officials.
“The companies were informed that GSLP/Liberal Government have an objection in principle to maintaining in force contracts which were awarded illegally in the light,
notably, of EU public procurement requirements,” No.6 Convent Place said in a statement.
“There will now be further meetings between the companies and Government officials in order to discuss each of the ongoing projects one by one and to establish and settle any outstanding fees to the date of termination of the contracts.”
“It will also be identified at this time whether there is a need for LPC or GLRC to continue to provide services in relation to any of these projects which, for example, are about to come to an end.”
