A Bulgarian pickpocket received a five months prison sentence after pleading guilty to one count of attempted theft and three counts of theft in the Magistrates Courts las Wednesday.

Kristina Marinova Nikolova, 27, a resident in Spain was arrested on August 22, by officers on suspicion of attempted theft, during the course of investigating this, subsequent thefts were identified from CCTV footage according to the RGP.

Nikolova arrest came as RGP officers started an on-going operation to kerb thefts of personal property commonly referred to as ‘pickpockets’, in a operation called Operation Twist.
