Paisley amongst MPs for National Day
The Government has invited fifteen members of the House of Commons and three from the House of Lords to Gibraltar for National Day, as part of what they say is their commitment to return National Day to its traditional format. Amongst them son of the legendary figure of Northern Irish history the Rev Ian Paisley.
This year there will be representatives from the Conservative Party, the Liberal Democrats, the Labour Party, the Ulster Unionist Party, the Democratic Unionist Party and the Scottish National Party. Making it the first time that there has been such a wide representation from parties across the political spectrum in the Houses of Parliament.

The Parliamentarians will be accompanied by friend and supporter of Gibraltar for many years Andrew MacKinlay.
The Government has arranged a number of events for them which include a political briefing by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo with the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia.
