Coaching at Copenhagen

‘ROAD MAP’ LEADS TO DENMARK The GFA contingent of eleven coaches returned to Gibraltar yesterday following their three – day UEFA study group on ‘grass roots’ football at Copenhagen , Denmark as the next step in the UEFA/GFA ‘road map’.

The GFA party of eleven returned to the coach park from Copenhagen, Denmark where they had been guests of UEFA for three days familiarisation as part of the ‘road map’.

Leslie Asquez, GFA’s Chairman for Junior Football says :” It was a UEfA ‘grass roots’ study group scheme and a fantastic experience for us all. Other groups from Estonia and Portugal were present as well as hosts Denmark.

“We covered a lot of topics and were each able to give our power- point presentations and also visited splendid facilities for footballers as young as 3 and 4 years. We learned a lot and passed on a lot to the others.” Speaking as GFA Media Rep. and UEFA co-ordinator, Dennis Beiso said; “It was an educational experience. We discovered that although we may appear to be behind in some aspects , we are ahead of others and were able to let them know what Gibraltar is all about. “There is sensitivity regarding the UEFA issue but we are making progress on the UEFA/GFA ‘road map’. We will be travelling to our friends in Malta next month. We can assure the media and the public that we will keep them informed when we have something to say!”
