DEPUTY GOVERNOR STEPS INTO GOVERNOR ROLE UNTIL DECEMBER
Following Sir Adrian Johns’ departure yesterday, Deputy Governor Alison MacMillan has been appointed to the office of Governor to perform all the functions of Governor and Commander-in-Chief as required by the Constitution until the Governor-designate’s arrival in December.
On taking the oath of allegiance this afternoon in the Banqueting Hall at the Convent, Mrs MacMillan said: “Gibraltar is a very special place- geographically, historically, culturally- and it will be a privilege to serve in this role.”
“As a family, we have always been made to feel so welcome in Gibraltar. It is the place in the world where we all feel most at home.”
