New CEO for Gibtelecom

Gibtelecom has confirmed the appointment of Noel Burrows, formerly CEO of Digicel Panama, as its new CEO.

Mr Burrows, a seasoned telecoms executive, will take up the role as from May 6 and succeeds Tim Bristow.

In a statement Gibtelecom explained that Mr Burrows has over 20 years senior leadership experience in telecoms, having worked with Tesco mobile in UK and Ireland, and O2 in Europe and South America.

Additionally Mr Burrows has experience in growing Telco businesses through market leadership, in brand, customer satisfaction and product innovation.

Commenting on the appointment, Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, who is also the Chairman of Gibtelecom, said: "Noel brings a wealth of expertise, as well as global wireless experience to Gibtelecom.”

“He has a proven record of performance in highly competitive environments. We look forward to his leadership as Gibtelecom continues to invest and evolve its business to provide the best experience for our customers.”

“I wish to thank Adrian Moreno and his management team for the interim leadership and am confident they will complement and work extremely well with Noel.”

Mr Burrows said: "I am really pleased to be joining Gibtelecom, and look forward to working with the team there to build on the success of the business, supporting the next exciting chapter of the business."
