Take That and Tom Walker to headline Gibraltar Calling

This year's Gibraltar Calling music festival will see Take That and Tom Walker headline the event.

The 8th annual event is scheduled to be held on September 7 and 8 at the Europa Point Leisure Complex.

Chief Minister Fabian Picardo announced the headliners alongside the Minister for Culture Steven Linares and Richard Coram of Neon Angel.

"Last night in Sheffield a band started to rehearse to come to Gibraltar on Sunday 8 September, that band is well known and one that I think will excite a lot of people in Gibraltar," Mr Picardo said.

"Take That will be here in Gibraltar on Sunday 8 September."

"Alongside them will be the Brit Award winner Tom Walker. He has a top five hit and has had a number one album for quite a long time."

"We are very excited to make these two announcements of our two headliners."

Mr Picardo added that the format for this year's event is going to be "even more fun" than it has been traditionally down at the Victoria Stadium.

"I hope you enjoy the first rock concert at the Pillars of Hercules," Mr Picardo said.

Mr Linares added that the format of this year's event to set to change and he is very "excited" for the upcoming event.

Mr Picardo teased there are many more announcements yet to come.

Take That

Take That are this year celebrating their 30th anniversary and the band is currently comprised of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen.

The original line-up of the band also featured Robbie Williams and Jason Orange - who no longer form part of the band.

Take That is a chart topping band and over the years has had 28 top 40 singles and 17 top 5 singles in the United Kingdom.

The band is currently on a Greatest Hits tour in celebration of their 30th anniversary.

Tom Walker

Tom Walker rose to fame with his song 'Leave a light on' that has reached number 7 on the UK Singles Chart.

His other songs include 'Walk Alone', 'My Way', 'Angels', and 'Just you and I'.

He also won 'British Breakthrough Act' at the 2019 Brit Awards.
