Chief Minister and Dr Garcia continuing lobbying in London and Brussels

The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, and the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, have continued a busy round of meetings in London - putting across the views of Gibraltar on a range of issues.

On Monday they met with the UK Minister of State for Transport Robert Goodwill in order to discuss the aviation issues that may arise in the context of the potential UK withdrawal from the European Union.

Mr Picardo was then taken by Mr Goodwill to witness at first hand the statement by Theresa May following her appointment as the new leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister designate.

Mr Picardo and Dr Garcia were able to discuss the consequences of the referendum vote to leave the European Union with former Shadow Foreign Secretary Hilary Benn and to exchange a few words with the challenger for the leadership of the Labour Party Angela Eagle.
