Local designer Howard wins Runway 2016

Gail Howard won this year’s Runway New Designer competition and will be showcasing her designs during London Fashion Week in February 2017.

Mrs Howard stole the show with her fashions inspired by five strong women who are close to her heart. Her clothes featured sequins, feathers and bright colours.

Emmy George and Kimberly Bautista exhibited their designs in the final. Ms Bautista’s designs were heavily influenced by Spanish fashion with matador and flamenco inspiration. Ms George designs featured bright yellow lipstick to accentuate the yellow theme through her clothes.

Judges Matthew Dowling from The Freelancer Club and Head Designer at Target Marie Phillipou said they both thoroughly enjoyed witnessing the local fashion scene.
