Deputy Chief Minister briefs MEP assistants

The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, briefed a group of MEP assistants on the latest developments following the decision taken in the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.

The briefing, which took place on Friday November 11, is the latest in a series of familiarisation visits to Gibraltar.

The purpose of these visits is to provide a better understanding of Gibraltar to MEPs and their staff.

“These visits are all the more important now given the potential challenges posed by Brexit and the need for the Gibraltar view to reach as many decision-makers as possible,” No. 6 Convent Place said in a statement.

Dr Garcia told the MEP assistants that an “orderly and sensible” Brexit was in the best interests of Gibraltar, the UK, Spain and indeed the rest of the EU.
