Gibraltar Philharmonic Society Christmas Concert on Dec 15

The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society has announced that this year’s Classical Christmas concert will be dedicated to the Parasol Foundation and will star Jonathan Tetelman (tenor), accompanied by organist Philip Scriven.
Ruth Monicka Parasol, the principal Benefactress and Trustee Director of the Parasol Foundation, said “ 'This year's classical Christmas concert promises to be an exceptional event and a real highlight of Gibraltar's Christmas calendar.”

“The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society plays a special role amplifying our cultural community and I'm touched that they have chosen to dedicate the evening to The Parasol Foundation.”

Ernest Gomez MBE, the Chairman of the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society, said that it was “a delight to be welcoming star tenor Jonathan Tetelman to Gibraltar to perform at our Classical Christmas concert which promises to be a real treat at the wonderful setting of The Holy Trinity Cathedral.”

“It is also an honour to be organising this finale to the year on behalf of The Parasol Foundation, a generous long-standing supporter of our Society.”

Jonathan Tetelman
Born in Castro, Chile, and educated at Mannes College and the Manhattan School of Music, Mr Tetelman has sung with a number of prestigious opera companies in the United States and Europe and worked alongside maestro Karel Mark Chichon, soprano Angela Gheorghiu, mezzo Elina Garanca and Placido Domingo.
He is particularly known for the role of Cavaradossi in the opera, Tosca.

Philip Scriven
Philip Scriven has held some of the most prestigious organist positions in the UK, such as at Westminster Abbey, St. George Chapel Windsor Castle, St. John ́s College Cambridge and Winchester Cathedral.
He regularly works with the top London orchestras, and has also conducted the Philharmonia Orchestra in concert.

From 2002-10, Philip was Organist and Master of the Choristers at Lichfield Cathedral and Musical Director of the Lichfield Cathedral Chorus.

The concert will be held on Thursday 15 December 2022 at The Holy Trinity Cathedral at 8pm.
