BA flight aborted after bird strike
A British Airways flight from Gibraltar to London aborted its take-off yesterday evening due to a suspected bird strike.
The plane came to a halt just short of the runway road as emergency vehicles rushed to the scene.
As this edition went to press, passengers had been disembarked and BA engineers were heading to Gibraltar from Málaga to inspect the plane.
“We apologise for the cancellation of this service, but the safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority,” BA spokesman says.
Passengers were being rebooked on alternative flights.
