Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition meet Swedish Ambassador

The Swedish Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ms Nicola Chase, paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, at No. 6 Convent Place this morning.  The opportunity was taken to discuss matters of mutual interest.

Ms Chase was accompanied by the Head of Chancery and Consul General, Christel Makarowski, and the Swedish Honorary Consul for Gibraltar, James Gaggero.

Leader of the Opposition Daniel Feetham, and Marlene Hassan Nahon also met with Sweden’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Paying Ms Chase a courtesy visit, the GSD MPs discussed issues like the upcoming EU referendum and the possible implications for Gibraltar in the event of a ‘No’ result.

“Sweden has always been a true friend to Gibraltar, having on various occasions defended matters relating to the Rock that have paved the way for other European nations to follow suit,” the GSD said.
