CM leads GibTalks 2016

Chief Minister Fabian Picardo will lead this year’s presentations of GibTalks in February. Other speakers include Opposition member Edwin Reyes and well known local personalities John Goncalves, Keith Bensusan, Davina Barbara, Rebecca Faller, Fabian Vinet, Paul Cosquieri, Daniella Tilbury and Richard Cartwright.

The event is again organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services working in association with local teacher and playwright Julian Felice. The event will be held at the John Mackintosh Hall on Saturday 13 February.

The idea of GibTalks is styled on the very successful TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) series of talks (www.ted.com). GibTalks will see a range of local speakers deliver fifteen-minute talks on a broad spectrum of subjects with the aim of focusing on the anecdotal, the personal, and the light-hearted as opposed to heavy-going academics and agendas.

Once again the organisers have taken the speakers to represent a cross-section of the community with a rich and varied programme.

Other speakers are: Tiffany Button-Reyes, Polly Lavarello and Kenneth Cardona.

In addition to the invited guest speakers, four ten-minute slots have also been allocated to members of the public who will have the opportunity to speak to the audience about an issue close to their hearts. The four individuals are: Phillip Vasquez, Tomasz Zakrzewicz, Geri Cummings and Eyleen Sheil.

Tickets for the event will be on sale as from this coming Monday 11 January from the John Mackintosh Hall reception and online on www.buytickets.gi.

Tickets are priced at £5. Tickets will enable ticket-holders to pop in and out of the event as they please, during the course of the day.
