Gib ladies unable to make it past Malta

The Gibraltar women's senior basketball team faced another defeat, this time at the hands of Malta. In a crucial match which would decide if they could reach the later phases of the tournament Gibraltar lost 71-32.
Relying heavily on the solo performances of Perez and Benitez who were rotated by Uruguayan head coach Marcelo Zubiran throughout the final stages of the third period and the final period Gibraltar saw the gap increase further.
