Gibraltar and San Roque strengthen ties in business, tourism and education

Gibraltar and San Roque will push forwards on business, tourism and educational projects following a meeting between Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and the Spanish town’s PSOE mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix.

Gibraltar businesses will be offered an economic and logistics zone of 165.000 square metres to invest in which Mr Picardo said will ‘hopefully’ be a free trade zone.

San Roque will offer a joint-tourist package for visitors to the Rock and one of 14 summer courses on Gibraltar organised by Cádiz University will be held at the University of Gibraltar.

Sr Ruiz Boix embraced Mr Picardo as the Chief Minister arrived arrival at San Roque’s town council at midday yesterday.

The two men and their teams were in talks for over an hour before announcing the proposals to journalists from Spain and Gibraltar.
