Kusuma Trust recognises exceptional students

Kusuma Trust Gibraltar yesterday recognised local students and charities for their achievements and hard work at a presentation held at ISOLAS law firm.

Trustee Peter Isola presented the Kusuma Trust Excellence Prize to six students, including Henry Archer; Joseph Butron; Sanya Chhugani; David Garcia; Kelvin Gomez; and Nuhaila Mkerref.

The £3,000 prize is awarded annually to students who perform exceptionally well at A-level or undergraduate level, obtain a place at a leading university and are involved in voluntary work within the community.

The successful students are studying a range of subjects including Materials Science and Engineering, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and History at leading UK universities Cambridge, Durham, York, St Andrews and Loughborough.

Speaking at the event Mr Isola, a senior partner at ISOLAS and trustee of Kusuma Trust Gibraltar, said: “The Kusuma Excellence Prize recognises the exceptional achievements of these students, as well as their contribution to the local community.”

“We hope that the money will support them in their academic studies and also help them to enjoy the social, sport and cultural side of university life so that they get the most out of the experience.”

“Kusuma Trust Gibraltar is keen to encourage local students to work hard, apply to the very best universities and to make the most of their potential.”

Kusuma also welcomed representatives from a wide range of local charities to thank them for their hard work and invaluable contribution to the local community over the past year.
