Most complaints against RGP ‘lack substance’, report finds

Most complaints against the police last year were baseless, according to the latest annual report from the Police Complaints Board which nonetheless highlighted some concerns about “unacceptable behaviour” by a small number of officers.

The Board said it had dismissed 11 of the 16 complaints levelled against the Royal Gibraltar Police during 2015.

Board chairman Albert Danino underscored that some of the complaints made against the police “have been without substance, and seem to have been made in a vexatious and retributive manner.”

Three complaints were sustained by the Board and two complaints are currently under investigation.
