Over £5,000 RGP donation for ‘Stay Clean’ group
The Royal Gibraltar Police has donated over £5,000 to a local drugs awareness charity the Stay Clean Gibraltar Group.
The cheque worth £5,778 was donated by RGP Recruit Class 01/16 to Damian Broton from the charity, in an event attended by Minister for Social Services Samantha Sacramento, Commissioner of Police Eddie Yome and Head of Drug Services John Montegriffo.
The funds were raised in a Family Fun Day organised by RGP recruits in training at Casemates Square last month.
At the presentation Commissioner Yome highlighted the importance of including a community project within the recruits training programme. He added the funds raised could have not been possible without the overwhelming support from the community.
Ms Sacramento thanked all those involved and looks forward to future initiatives and partnership.
