‘Tree-athlon’ campaigner plants bushes with Brownies

Gibraltar resident Gary Evans recently paid a visit to the Gibraltar Brownies to share with them his desire for everyone on the Rock to plant a tree.

Mr Evans will be running, cycling and swimming with a tree as he undertakes his Ironman ‘Tree-athlon’ every month this year.

He is not asking for money or donations, but rather urging people to plant trees, grow plants on their balconies and make Gibraltar greener.

With this in mind, he gave a presentation to the Brownies and planted three bushes with them on Wednesday evening. The bushes are expected to grow to three metres high.

“I had good fun,” he said admitting he did not want the time he spent with the girls to end.

“They are going to raise some money and want me to go back and plant some more with them,” he said.

Mr Evans will undertake the first of his twelve Tree-athlons this Sunday. For more details visit https://www.facebook.com/2020-Ironman-Tree-athlon-101261134698100/
