257 people attend skin cancer screening Day

257 people took the opportunity on Saturday to attend the Skin Screening Day at the Primary Care Centre.

Health Minister Dr Cortes commented many people had availed themselves of this service over the three years the GHA had been running the skin cancer screening days.

“The clinics have helped in detecting conditions that require treatment and, also importantly, have given reassurance to even more people who may have been worried. I am very pleased at the initiative and grateful to all at the Primary Care Centre who have worked hard to make this possible,” he said.

The day saw a walk in clinic where members of the public who had concerns about a changing mole or new growth had these checked out by a member of the dermatology team.

At the entrance to the ICC the health promotion department also had a stall advertising the day and giving out patient information leaflets and advice.
