Missing American found in Florida

An American man who ‘disappeared’ from his Ocean Village moored boat to which was pinned a ‘blood stained note’ has been found alive and well living in Florida.

Royal Gibraltar Police officers have located the 32-year old man who was last seen in Gibraltar in early September of 2015.

According to an RGP statement the man, who had been residing on a vessel at Ocean Village Marina, has now been traced to the state of Florida in the United States.

Although there were initial concerns for his safety investigators were soon satisfied that the man had left Gibraltar of his own accord.

“Nevertheless inquiries continued to establish his wellbeing,” the RGP said.

Police were initially contacted by Marina Bay Management in September 2015 having not heard from or seen the man in some time.

Officers attended Ocean Village and checked both the boat and the surrounding area.

What at first appeared to be a bloody note was tagged to the boat and indicated that something untoward had occurred inside the vessel. Examination of the note later established that the substance on the note was not blood.
