Brexit deal could include ‘differential arrangements’

Britain’s Brexit deal could include “differential arrangements” for different parts of the UK, the UK’s Secretary of State for Scotland said yesterday.

David Mundell said there would be “no special deals” for different parts of the country as part of the Brexit negotiations.

But he added the UK’s withdrawal from the EU could “include differential arrangements in different parts of the United Kingdom” if that was felt to be the “best way forward”.

Mr Mundell was responding to questions on Scotland and the devolved administrations, but his comments could be relevant to Gibraltar too.
