Clubhouse raise £44,000 with gala evening

Clubhouse Gibraltar has raised £43,921 with their first ever Gala Ball at the Sunborn Yacht Hotel.

The charity have called the event a “huge success” with the funds set to help furnish Clubhouse’s new “forever home” at 304a Main Street.

The evening included VIP photos taken by a professional photographer before the event, a three-course meal and a fun live auction professionally run with aplomb by Jonathan Rix of Kedhlow.

There were over 20 unique experiences being auctioned which included a Motor Racing day at the world renowned Ascari racetrack near Ronda, dinner for six with Christian Hook, an experience at Gibraltar International Airport in the Air Traffic control tower watching aircraft land and a half day experience joining the Airport Fire and Rescue service as a fireman.

Horse Racing enthusiasts bid for a Paul Nicholls experience at his stables including an afternoon at the Wincanton Races.

Several signed football shirts were auctioned, as was an opportunity to see Boyzone in a VIP concert in Birmingham including a backstage meet and greet, airline tickets and a Hotel stay.

Speakers included Clubhouse’s newly appointed Patron of Clubhouse Gibraltar Governor Lieutenant General Edward Davis as well as the Minister for Education and Environment Dr John Cortes.

There was also a professional guest speaker: Peter Hancock, Chief Executive of Pride of Britain Hotels and a renowned, witty after-dinner raconteur.

Clubhouse Gibraltar would like to thank all their sponsors especially those who contributed to this event, William Hill, Gibraltar International Bank and Sovereign Group as well as all those who attended and/or contributed auction prizes and supported in any way towards this event.

The charity also shared a special thanks to Yvonne and Nick Page, Pete Yeoman and Deputy CEO Clubhouse Gibraltar Tania Aguilar for helping to organize this prestigious event with such excellent results.
