Cross Frontier Group talks Brexit with PSOE in La Linea

The Cross Frontier Group and members from the PSOE La Línea branch yesterday met to discuss the latest developments with Brexit.

During the meeting, they discussed the uncertainty in the circumstances surrounding Brexit, as well as the upcoming general elections in Spain.

The joint use of the Gibraltar International Airport and a “smart border” at the frontier were also discussed during the meeting.

There was concern about what it would mean for Gibraltar and La Línea if there were a change in government in Spain and the lack of a Brexit deal.

The PSOE members said they were “concerned about the extension of Brexit overlapping the general election”.

However, the main concern for the Cross Frontier Group was that Spanish parties could turn Gibraltar into an electoral issue during the forthcoming campaign.
