Four frontier workers among latest positive cases detected in Gibraltar
Four cross-border workers were among the seven active cases reported by the Gibraltar Health Authority yesterday.
The four were detected as part of targeted screening of frontline workers in different sectors.
The Gibraltar Government said medical confidentiality prevented it from providing any further details on the cases.
“However we can confirm that their positive results were derived from targeted and systematic sampling and that the positives are now self-isolating at home in Gibraltar and Spain,” a spokesman for No.6 Convent Place said.
“We began making contact with the Madrid authorities in March and these contacts continue as necessary.”
“At a local level, there has been communication with Spanish clinicians on medical details.”
None of the other active cases are hospitalised and a further 37 people were in self-isolation yesterday pending the results of tests.
