GHA enters into contractual agreement with Quirónsalud

The Gibraltar Health Authority has confirmed that it has entered into a contractual arrangement with Quirónsalud Group, a leading, private healthcare provider in Spain.

Quirónsalud Healthcare Group is represented by 40,000 professionals providing care in more than 125 centres, including 47 hospitals equipped with around 7,000 beds, offering a wide range of specialist medical care, which include the fields of Oncology, Neurology and Cardiovascular medicine.

The group was formed as a result of a merger between Idcsalud and Grupo Hospitalario Quirón.

Their core principles are to provide health care, defined by excellence and quality, based on personalisation, warmth and connection with their patients.

“This new agreement reinforces the existing relationship between Quirónsalud and the GHA, which presently refer patients for specialised treatments to the group’s various medical centres,” the Government said in a statement.

This development follows the Government’s recent announcement of the GHA having commenced a contractual relationship with Clínica Universidad de Navarra.

The Managing Director for Quironsalud in Andalusia, Dra. Pilar Serrano, the Managing Director of Hospital Quironsalud Marbella, Dr. Antonio Feria, and the Managing Director of Hospital Quironsalud Campo de Gibraltar, Mr. Manuel Carrillo, attended the signing.
The three managers expressed their satisfaction at signing the agreement and for having been given the opportunity to provide GHA patients with quality health care.

The GHA’s Medical Director, Dr Daniel Cassaglia said: “A vital component of our ongoing work to implement a Clinical Governance framework for the GHA is to have assurance that our healthcare partners in Spain maintain high standards of clinical quality and patient safety. This contract is an essential component of that quality assurance framework.”

The Minister for Health, Care and Justice, Neil Costa, said: “I am very pleased that we have secured a contractual relationship with Quirónsalud, a highly renowned healthcare provider.”

“This new agreement further reinforces our professional relationship with the group, which have already provided some of our sponsored patients with specialised medical treatments, applying the latest in technology and research.”
