Gib singers unite on Facebook ‘stay at home’ concert tonight
A live streaming ‘Stay at home’ concert will be held tonight on Facebook by well-known local singers including Simon Dumas from King Calaway who will be joined by his brothers Guy and Phillip. The group is ‘Friday Night Live! Keep Safe Edition’.
The live steaming event is hosted and organised by Dion Mifsud who is in London and says the idea came about on St Patrick’s Day.
“Seeing as everyone was at home, I thought it might do us well to have a beer at home with some music. I asked some musician friends of mine to send me some songs and it all snowballed from there,” said Mr Mifsud.
“The main aim now is to help authorities get the message across to tell people to stay safe at home.”
Nolan Frendo organised all the line-up locally for tonight and said the real pleasure of this event was not only working alongside some top local musicians and professionals but giving back to the community.
“We hope this brings a smile and a positive homely vibe to those tuning in from home,” he said.
The Chronicle understands the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo will be addressing all the members of the group before the concert goes live.
Mr Mifsud acknowledged the great work Mr Frendo had undertaken and said they had such a long list of artists wanting to help out and join that he was not ruling out a second concert.
Anyone can join in on the fun on their Facebook page.
