Gib’s Special Olympics athletes scoop three gold medals

Special Olympics Gibraltar struck gold on the first day of finals in the World Winter Games in Turin on Wednesday when athlete Samuel Santos came first in his division in the Intermediate Giant Slalom event.
There was also a gold medal on Thursday for Francis Avellano in the novice Super-G race with a 33.63 second time.
Merlin Florkowski also won gold in the 200m snowshoeing race.
