Govt calls on Daryanani for transport briefing
The Governor, Sir David Steel, visited the Minister for Business, Tourism and Transport, Vijay Daryanani, at his ministry yesterday, the latest in a series of familiarisation visits.
Mr Daryanani showed Sir David the Government’s plans for Line Wall Road and Chatham Counterguard.
The meeting came a day after protestors handed Sir David a list of grievances, many of which focused on the Gibraltar Government’s handling of traffic issues.
During the meeting, Mr Daryanani also shared his ideas on business and tourism with Sir David, briefing him on how COVID had severely impacted these portfolios under his remit.
In addition, the two men also discussed Mr Daryanani’s first eight months in Government.
“It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Sir David to my offices,” Mr Daryanani said.
“He is an outstanding man who in a very short space of time has taken to Gibraltar and out people.”
“I look forward to meeting him again soon.”
