New system for blood test appointments

Next month sees the start of a new appointment system rolled out by the GHA for patients requiring blood tests.

The new system is effective as of March 1 and is a trial service intended to reduce waiting times at the blood clinics in both St Bernard’s Hospital and the Primary Care Centre [PCC].

Prior to this date patients will be able to attend the blood clinics on a walk-in basis using the ticket system. With the new system appointments at the PCC can be scheduled between 8.30 and 11am.

People can still use the walk-in service between 8.30 and 10.30am but tickets will be retired at 10am.

At the St Bernard’s Hospital Phlebotomy (blood) Department appointments can be scheduled between 8am and 10am. The walk-in clinics will also continue during this period of time.

Both clinics are closed at weekends and on public holidays. For more information contact the PCC on 20072355 or Phlebotomy Department at St Bernard’s Hospital on 20007251.
