The Windsor Bridge is now open

The Windsor Bridge, Gibraltar’s first suspension bridge, was officially opening by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo yesterday.

Governor Edward Davis, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia, Minister for Tourism Samantha Sacramento, Minister for Environment Dr John Cortes and Chief Executive of the Gibraltar Tourist Board Nicky Guerrero, were also present.

Declaring the bridge open Mr Picardo said: “We have started the process, which lay abandoned for years, of restoring, revitalising and rebranding the beautiful Upper Rock Nature Reserve.”

“It is my real pleasure and pride to take this opportunity to cut this ribbon with his Excellency the Governor of Gibraltar and declare this suspension bridge, the Windsor suspension bridge, opened.”
