Unite calls emergency meeting to discuss way forward in MoD proposal

Unite the Union will be calling an emergency meeting of the MoD/ISP Branch this Wednesday to discuss the way forward on the new proposed “operating model” at the MoD. All Ministry Of Defence Locally Entered Civilians were issued with a letter last Thursday updating them on their role and how the new operating model would affect them personally. This letter also extended an invitation for those employees wanting to apply for the Voluntary Redundancy Scheme.

The meeting said Unite had been called because the MOD had not taken into account the unions requests to “either stop or extend the consultation process”. The meeting will also discuss the Command's response to Unite.

Unite reiterates this consultation process is the “most incoherent and shortest” encountered in the history of industrial relations between the MoD and Unite in Gibraltar.
