YOUTH CHOIR IN BARCELONA COMPETITION

The Gibraltar Youth Choir are competing in the Canta Al Mar 2016 Choral Competition in Calella in Barcelona. The Gibraltar Youth Choir is part of GAMPA and they have been working very hard over summer in order to be ready to make Gibraltar proud next week. They left Gibraltar yesterday and return on Sunday. As well as competing in the POP category with choirs from all over the world including Finland, Indonesia and Norway amongst others, they have also been invited to perform at the Opening Ceremony. The Gibraltar Youth Choir will also perform at the "Music and Light" Concert to be held at the Esglesia de Santa Maria i San Nicolau.

“It is a great chance to get the choir to perform parts of their vast repertoire and put Gibraltar on the map again,” said Christian Santos, choir director, who has also been appointed the task of conducting two other choirs in a celebration called Calella Sings, where all competing choirs sing together all over the city.
