Youth Service launch pilot initiative

The Gibraltar Youth Service are piloting a new initiative to engage young adults with mild learning difficulties, aged 18-30, in social education and activities.

The project is being announced after several months of discussions, training and planning amongst a working group of professionals from the Care Agency, the Department of Education and the Gibraltar Youth Service. All of whom will continue to be actively involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the project.

Commencing this week, the group will initially meet once a month during the pilot phase which will end in September, at which point the working group will evaluate the impact and progress of the project before discussing how, and if to proceed.

For this pilot period the working group identified young adults they previously or currently work with to form a group.

No more referrals are being accepted for the pilot phase but, new referrals will be accepted and kept on record for the next phase of the initiative.
