£14000 boost for SOG from Rotary

Next March Special Olympics Gibraltar will be participating in the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 (WWG) with five local athletes participating in the alpine skiing and snowshoeing events. The games start with the opening ceremony on March 8 and conclude on the March 15. There will be over 1,500 athletes taking part from 102 countries.
SOG received a boost to their aims last week as President Ron Wagemakers of The Rotary Club of Gibraltar presented the association with a cheque to help cover the cost.
Mr Wagemakers has led his committee in recent weeks in a mission to raise as much money as possible for SOG in order to help cover the costs of getting the athletes to these games. Making SOG their charity of choice, in particular at a charity event and dinner on November 26, which included an auction which helped to raise over £14,000 for SOG.
The auction included the donation of a print by Christian Hook which raised £4,000. They also organised a coffee morning with Gibraltar Arts and Crafts recently to raise funds for SOG
