Police arrest migrants in canoe

Three men spotted paddling in a small inflatable canoe about a mile off Europa Point on Monday evening were arrested for being in Gibraltar without permission.

The three, aged in their early 20s, believed to be Moroccan nationals, were picked up by the Marine Section of the Royal Gibraltar Police.

All were found to be in good health.

The men were charged with the offence of being a non-Gibraltarian found in Gibraltar without a valid permit or certificate and were due to appear before the
Magistrates’ Court this morning.
