RGP van in traffic collision

The RGP confirms one of its patrol vans was extensively damaged last night in a collision at Town range.
The patrol van was involved in a pursuit of a motorcyclist riding at speed in a dangerous manner and against the flow of traffic.
The rider, a 49yr old local man, who has been granted police bail, tested positive to a roadside drugs test and was arrested for various traffic offences and a Warrant of Arrest issued by the Magistrates’ Court.
The RGP are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the pursuit and subsequent collision.
