Commendations for Boschetti's Steps investigators

Members of Operation Indigo, the Royal Gibraltar Police investigation into the triple murder and suicide at Boschetti’s Steps earlier this year, received commendations from the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo together with the Commissioner of Police Eddie Yome.

Also present at the presentation was Governor Alison MacMillan.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Tunbridge and Detective Inspector Roy Perez, the Deputy Senior Investigating Officer and HM Coroner’s Officer, were both highly commended for the “leadership, commitment and investigation skills displayed, as well as their approach and conduct during what was a very challenging and protracted enquiry.”

Crime Scene Manager Detective Sergeant Adam Bautista was highly commended for the “meticulous management of a very complex crime scene and the devising of a forensic strategy, with his professional approach and conduct being instrumental to the final determination of the HM Coroner’s inquest into these tragic deaths.”

CID officers Detective Sergeant Dylan Quigley and Detective Constable James Rodriguez were commended for the commitment and investigation skills displayed during the protracted gathering of evidence leading to the final verdict in this case at HM Coroner’s Court.

Police Sergeant Anna Jones and Police Constable Louise Lopez were both commended for the exemplary manner in which they each discharged the role of Family Liaison Officer, providing crucial support to the investigating team and the families of victims.

RGP Crime Scene Investigators Detective Constables Michael Gaetto, Richard Gonzalez, Stephen Palmer and Joseph Victory, together with Leading Regulator Andrew Wright (Royal Navy) and Corporal Emily Gannaway (Royal Military Police) were all commended for their “professional handling of the crime scene and forensic strand of ‘Operation Indigo,’ with their forensic evidence gathering skills and dedication proving a determining factor in the outcome of this case at the inquest by HM Coroner.”

Bringing to a close several fundraising events held throughout 2015, and on behalf of the RGP Charity Committee, Mr Yome also took the opportunity to present cheques of £1000.00 to representatives of a number of local charities. These include the Gibraltar Community Association, Little Smiles, GBC Open Day, Save The Children, Gibraltar Alzheimer’s & Dementia Society and the Gibraltar Dyslexia Support Group.
