Contactless payments increase to £45

The amount spent using the contactless facility on many credit or debit cards will increase to £45, with NatWest and Revolut recently announcing they would implement the increase.

The maximum amount previously allowed on contactless was £30.

The move follows the outbreak of Covid-19 and the appeal by many shop owners for customers to refrain from paying with cash and using card instead.

Both NatWest and Revolut cards will cater for the £45 increase, as yet Gibraltar International Bank debit cards do not have the contactless feature.
