GibraltarFA held its General Assembly
The Gibraltar Football Associations General Assembly was held at the Sunborn Hotel on the 1st of February 2022.
The General assembly was held in the presence of FIFA’s Regional Manager for European Member Associations Lorenzo Cavalieri and UEFA’s Deputy Director National Associations Division Thierry Favre.
Gibraltar FA President Michael Llamas CMG KC opened by addressing the Membership highlighting the progress that has been made domestically on the new stadium project, recent developments at the Europa Sports Complex, statutory review , the 10 year anniversary of UEFA Membership, and on the field performances both domestically and internationally. Mr Llamas finished by calling for continued unity amongst the Gibraltar footballing family going forward in ay challenges that may be faced.
The two visiting delegates from Lorenzo Cavalieri from FIFA and Thierry Favre from UEFA took to the stage to individually address the assembly both of whom firmly committed their whole hearted support to Gibraltarian Football.
After the approval of minutes from the previous General Assembly and Extraordinary General Assembly, Gibraltar FA Operations Director Ian Torrilla gave a brief update on various programmes and initiatives that the Association is currently undertaking.
New Finance Director Colin Vaughan presented the Association’s Financial Statements for 2021/22 which were approved.
Proposals for statutory review were ratified with a commitment from all parties to work together in line with UEFA and FIFA’s Good Governance guidelines to further update, review and develop the Associations statutes.
The Association’s independent Auditors, as proposed by the Governance and Strategy Board were also approved in what was the final point of the evening which drew the assembly to a close.
