GIBRALTARIAN IN FREEDOM OF THE CITY OF LONDON PARADE

Musician Lance Corporal James Ballantine yesterday formed part of the Household Cavalry which exercised their Freedom of the City of London, with Standards raised, drums beating, swords drawn and bayonets fixed. The Household Cavalry is made up of two regiments: the Blues and Royals and the Life Guards. The parade was led by the Household Cavalry Mounted Band and Drum Horses carrying the 90lbs Georgian solid silver kettledrums. LC Ballantine was on Adamas. This was the first time that the Freedom has been exercised by the Blues and Royals since the Falklands War. The parade marched to the Guildhall, where they marched past the Deputy Lord Mayor, and HRH Princess Anne who is Royal Colonel and the other Colonels of the Regiments.
