GRGA Open International Competition

The Gibraltar International Open Competition took place on Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th April 2024, in which they have been commended for a sensational and very well organised competition and all our local Gymnasts have shined and once again made Gibraltar proud. With 500 gymnasts taking part and a crowd of 800 our gymnasts took to the carpet.
Saturday 13th April, we saw the following gymnasts competing, including a competing gymnast from Ukraine. It was a pleasure to watch Ksenia Yurystovska compete.

Saturday results for Gibraltar:
Base U12 Hoop:
Sienna Mena – 3rd overall
Junior Absolute Ball:
Jasmine Vaughan – 2nd overall.

Senior Absolute Ball, so proud of the girls who competed against 2 Russian gymnasts:
Nyah Galia 4th overall Thea Cawthorn 5th overall , Chanel Trinidad 6th overall

Senior Absolute Hoop:
Chanel Trinidad came 3rd overall, while teammate Nora El Ouazani cam 4th overall.

Senior Absolute Clubs:
Nyah Galia 3rd overall , Chanel Trinidad 4th overall , Mie Alvarez 5th overall.

Senior Absolute Ribbon:
Nyah Galia 3rd overall , Chanel Trinidad 4th overall , Mie Alvarez 5th overall, Nora el Ouazani 7th overall.

Sunday 14th April 2024:
Pre- Pre Copa-Pre -Benjamin Freehand:
Sofia Gallagher – 2nd overall

Pre- Pre Copa-Benjamin Freehand:
Sophie -may Tart – 1st overall
Lara Banbury – 2nd overall

Pre Copa-Alevin ball:
Layla El Ouazani – 1st overall

Senior Clubs:
Nora El Ouazani – 2nd overall

Groups:
Benjamin C Group (Lara Banbury, Sofia Gallagher, Sophie-May Tart, Thea- Mae Riley, Selma Bodner) were the first ones to compete and won 2nd place overall.

Infantil C ball group (Alyla Campbell, Sofia Pecino, Georgia Smith, Sienna Potter- Kelly, Sienna McMahon) on the first podium win came 3rd overall.

Sunday Afternoon:
Sienna Mena competed in Infantil Rope placed 4th overall.

Pre Copa-Alevin Freehand:
Layla El Ouazani – 1st overall.

In the Junior -Copa Category:
Sienna Zarb placed 1st overall for Ribbon and 1st overall for Hoop, 3rd overall for clubs.
Jasmine Vaughan placed 3rd overall for Hoop, 2nd overall for clubs.
Lara Goulding placed 6th overall for hoop and 4th overall for rope.
